Written by David Gauthier

OmegaChem received this morning the Canadian Innovation Leader (CIL) Certificate from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). The Canadian Innovation Leader (CIL) Certificate Program was made to recognize Canadian firms that have successfully developed and applied innovative technologies, linking scientific research to commercialization, jobs, and economic growth.

Mr. Steven Blaney, Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology) presented the award at Levis Convention Center and pointed the contributions of Dr. Pierre Deslongchamps on the NRC-IRAP program. Along with Dr. Deslongchamps, François Laflamme (president and CEO), Michel Couturier (executive vice-president) and several other directors were present to discuss about the company.

OmegaChem was extremely honoured to receive this recognition which gives credit to the efforts the company deployed to create growth and innovations over the past years.  In addition, OmegaChem received 495 000$ in funding from the National Research Council of Canada for his future work in Research and Development.

François Laflamme, president and CEO of OmegaChem, declared in the conference that "In order to stand out internationally and ensure the success of our company, we must continuously innovate through clever, timely and relevant research and development. In fact, innovation is at the core of our business and is key to our past, current and future successes. The financial support of NRC-IRAP now allows us to undertake a major research project we have been contemplating for awhile. NRC-IRAP is undoubtedly instrumental in our endeavours to become pioneers in the field of Steroidal Nuclear Hormone Receptors."
